কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্প পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের একটি বিশেষ সমাজকল্যাণমূলক উদ্যোগ, যা কিশোরী মেয়েদের শিক্ষা, ক্ষমতায়ন ও অকালবিবাহ প্রতিরোধ করার জন্য চালু করা হয়েছে।
এই প্রকল্পের মূল লক্ষ্য হলো –
মেয়েদের স্কুল ও উচ্চশিক্ষায় ভর্তি করানো।
আর্থিক প্রণোদনার মাধ্যমে পড়াশোনায় উৎসাহ দেওয়া।
অল্পবয়সে বিয়ে বন্ধ করা।
মেয়েদের আত্মনির্ভর ও সচেতন করে তোলা।

কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পে দু’টি প্রধান ধাপ রয়েছে:
১৩ বছর থেকে ১৮ বছর বয়সের মধ্যে যেসব মেয়েরা স্কুল বা মাদ্রাসায় নিয়মিত পড়াশোনা করছে এবং অবিবাহিত, তারা এই সুবিধা পায়।
প্রতিবছর ₹750 টাকা করে ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্টে সরাসরি দেওয়া হয়।
১৮ বছর পূর্ণ হলে এবং এখনো অবিবাহিত থেকে উচ্চশিক্ষা চালিয়ে গেলে এককালীন অনুদান পাওয়া যায়।
এই ক্ষেত্রে ₹25,000 টাকা সরাসরি ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্টে জমা হয়।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের স্থায়ী বাসিন্দা হতে হবে।
১৩ থেকে ১৯ বছরের মধ্যে বয়স হতে হবে।
বিদ্যালয়/মাদ্রাসা/কলেজে অধ্যয়নরত হতে হবে।
অবিবাহিত থাকতে হবে।
পারিবারিক বার্ষিক আয় নির্দিষ্ট সীমার মধ্যে থাকতে হবে (কিছু বিশেষ ক্ষেত্রে ছাড় রয়েছে, যেমন – অনাথ বা বিশেষভাবে সক্ষম)।

বিদ্যালয়/মাদ্রাসা থেকে ফর্ম সংগ্রহ করতে হবে।
জন্মসনদ, পরিচয়পত্র, ঠিকানার প্রমাণ, অভিভাবকের আয় সনদ জমা দিতে হবে।
স্কুলের প্রধান শিক্ষক/শিক্ষিকা বা নোডাল অফিসার যাচাই করার পর আবেদন অনুমোদিত হবে।
অনুমোদনের পর মেয়েটির নামে ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্ট খোলা হবে এবং সেখানে টাকা পাঠানো হবে।

২০১৭ সালে জাতিসংঘ (UN) এর Public Service Award পেয়েছে।
আজকে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের লাখো কন্যা এই প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে উপকৃত।
মধ্যাহ্ন ভোজন প্রকল্পটি পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সহ ভারতের একটি কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারী উদ্যোগ। এর মূল লক্ষ্য হলো –
বিদ্যালয়ে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের পুষ্টিকর খাবার সরবরাহ করা।
ক্ষুধা ও অপুষ্টি কমানো।
গরিব পরিবারের শিশুদের বিদ্যালয়ে আসতে উৎসাহিত করা।
পড়াশোনার প্রতি আগ্রহ ও উপস্থিতি বাড়ানো।

সরকারি, সরকারি সাহায্যপ্রাপ্ত প্রাথমিক ও উচ্চ প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা।
সারস্বতী শিশু শিক্ষা কেন্দ্র, মাদ্রাসা ও বিশেষ প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্রের শিক্ষার্থীরাও এই সুবিধা পায়।

প্রতিদিন দুপুরে রান্না করা খাবার দেওয়া হয়।
প্রাথমিক স্তর (ক্লাস I–V) : প্রতি শিশু প্রতিদিন গড়ে ১০০ গ্রাম শস্য (চাল/গম), ডাল, শাকসবজি ও ডিম/সয়া।
উচ্চ প্রাথমিক স্তর (ক্লাস VI–VIII) : প্রতি শিশু প্রতিদিন গড়ে ১৫০ গ্রাম শস্য, ডাল, শাকসবজি ও ডিম/সয়া।
সপ্তাহে অন্তত দু’দিন ডিম বা পুষ্টিকর বিকল্প দেওয়া হয়।
মেনু বিদ্যালয় অনুযায়ী কিছুটা ভিন্ন হতে পারে।

প্রতিটি বিদ্যালয়ে রান্না করার জন্য রান্নাঘর শেড ও রাঁধুনি/সহায়িকা নিয়োগ করা হয়েছে।
খাদ্যের মান নিয়মিতভাবে পর্যবেক্ষণ করা হয়।
রাজ্য ও জেলা স্তরে নিরীক্ষণ ব্যবস্থা চালু আছে।

এই প্রকল্পটি ভারতের সবচেয়ে বড় স্কুল-ভিত্তিক পুষ্টি কর্মসূচি।
শিশুদের স্বাস্থ্য, শিক্ষা ও পুষ্টির মধ্যে সেতুবন্ধন তৈরি করতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখে।
পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার বিদ্যালয়ে অধ্যয়নরত দরিদ্র পরিবারের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জন্য বিনামূল্যে ইউনিফর্ম সরবরাহ করে থাকে। এর উদ্দেশ্য হলো –
সব ছাত্র-ছাত্রীকে সমানভাবে বিদ্যালয়ে উপস্থিত করা।
দরিদ্র পরিবারকে আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদান।
ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের মধ্যে সমতা, শৃঙ্খলা ও পরিচ্ছন্নতার অভ্যাস গড়ে তোলা।

ক্লাস I থেকে VIII পর্যন্ত ছেলেমেয়েরা।
SC, ST, OBC, Minority ও BPL পরিবারের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের বিশেষভাবে অগ্রাধিকার দেওয়া হয়।
মেয়েদের এবং দলিত/আদিবাসী শ্রেণীর ছেলেদের জন্য আলাদা করে বিশেষ সুবিধা রয়েছে।

বছরে নির্দিষ্ট সংখ্যক জোড়া পোশাক (সাধারণত ২ সেট) দেওয়া হয়।
পোশাকের রং ও নকশা বিদ্যালয়ভেদে একরকম রাখা হয়।
কিছু ক্ষেত্রে স্কুল ড্রেস মানি (Uniform Grant) সরাসরি অভিভাবকের ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্টে জমা করা হয়।

প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের জন্য প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা পর্ষদ এবং উচ্চ প্রাথমিকের জন্য মাধ্যমিক শিক্ষা দপ্তর দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত।
কিছু জেলায় স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষ সরাসরি ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের অ্যাকাউন্টে অর্থ প্রদান করে যাতে তারা ইউনিফর্ম কিনতে পারে।
